– Small, all tube (4 tubes!) home/ practice/ studio/ small pub/ guitar amplifier
– Very open-sounding and usable tone, easy playing
– Available power is selectable between 3 positions (0.5-1.5-4W) – !low power but still very loud for the home use!
– High quality components – vintage and modern (Iskra resistors and caps, Rifa and Nichicon long life electrolytics, Belton sockets, NOS JAN US / EU tubes)
– Baxandall type Tone stack with wide spectrum of tones (huge Bass and Treble pot dynamics)
– Hand made Power and Output transformers, custom wound, paper isolation
– Vol / gain potentiometer with a lot of useful positions – with transition from clean tones, to clean with sustain and slight compression in the middle, to overdrive on maximum position (depending od the output of the guitar, offcourse humbuckers will get more drive than single coil)
– 4-8-16 ohm, LINE OUT outputs
– Warning: “weird” tubes inside!
To have quality, and not expensive, affordable product, with real NOS, long life, beautiful sounding tubes made in golden era (and not today, with limited choice of metals) in design ..we must go to the “weird” side.
PCF802 (triode-pentode) in the preamp, 6J6 for phase inverter and PL95 for push-pull output, are our workhorses in this project and they are carrying part of the magic of Gardelin amp.. and meet all the requirements.
